Affiliate marketing is quickly becoming the advertising model of choice. Continuing with this trend is RocketProfit, a CPA-based advertising network that promises high payments, exclusive offers, and rewards for its highest performing publishers. Because it is a CPA-based ad network, publishers only get paid when site visitors complete a certain action. RocketProfit offers campaigns from a variety of niches, including business opportunities, dating, health and beauty, automotive, and education.
Generally speaking, RocketProfit is much like the other CPA-based advertising networks on the Internet. The branding and appearance of the RocketProfit website, however, are quite different. Upon arriving at the main page, some visitors to the RocketProfit website may not recognize it as an advertising network. Instead, the site looks more like a travel agency or a shopping site of some kind. This may be part of RocketProfit’s attempt to separate itself from the crowd.
Publishers are promised “tons of unique and exclusive deals” through RocketProfit, as well as customized promotions for qualified publishers, “highest” payouts, access to experienced affiliate managers, and speedy payments. The default payment arrangement is net-15 (more on this in the Payment Details section), but qualifying publishers may request payments as expedient as net-1.
One of the more noteworthy features at RocketProfit is Rocket Rewards. This is a program that rewards high-performing publishers who achieve certain milestones within any given month. These dollar figures include all money earned through affiliate commissions and through the referral program. The reward comes in the form of a gift card from a number of different retailers and restaurants, including Barnes and Noble, Home Depot, Gap, Bath and Body Works, Red Lobster, and California Pizza Kitchen. If a publisher earns a total of $5,000 in a month, he or she earns a $25 gift card. This escalates through six levels in all. The largest reward (a $500 gift card) is for earning $100,000 in a single month.
Another notable feature at RocketProfit is the Affiliate Toolbox. This is a resource area for all publishers, providing links to various tools and tips from around the Internet. These are designed to help publishers generate more traffic and revenue. The tools include e-mail marketing tools, search engine marketing tools, webmaster tools, and Internet marketing resources and tools.
Upon logging into the control panel, the publisher is presented with a list of recently highlighted offers in the RocketProfit ad network. This “News Flash” page is typically updated about every three days, highlighting between one and three offers. Direct links to these offers, and a note about the commission available, are also provided.
In addition to the seven tabs available without logging in – Offer News, FAQs, About Us, Newsletters, Affiliate Toolbox, Contact Us, and Home – there are six control panel tabs that become available upon logging into a publisher account:
- My Offers: Offers can be organized based on name, category, type, payout, media, and countries. Types include a sale, 1st page, completed profile, registration and paid trial. Upon clicking through on an individual offer, publishers can read a brief description and have access to the available campaign creatives.
- My Stats: Custom reports can be generated for any number of campaigns deployed, selected URL referIDs, defined date ranges, and report formats. The four reports available are Totals by Date Range/Link; Totals by Date Range/Offer; Totals by Month/Link; and Totals by Month/Day/Link.
- Referral Program: The special RocketReferral link can be acquired here, as well as banners and an email creative. A list of referred “partners” is also shown here.
- My Active Campaigns: This section provides access to all affiliate campaigns that have been deployed by the publisher.
- Rocket Rewards: This page outlines basic information about the Rocket Rewards program and it displays total commissions earned in the current month. Last month’s reward is displayed here too.
- My Account: Publishers can go here to adjust payee information, contact information, email address, and password. Strangely, the password is not blocked out by a series of asterisks. Instead, it is in plain view and this could be a security issue with RocketProfit.
The RocketProfit control panel is very easy to navigate and is reasonably user-friendly. Being able to organize the offers by the different criteria is very handy, but it does not appear possible to organize the offers based on date added. This way, publishers must visit the main page to view the latest offers.
The application process for RocketProfit is comprised of a single registration page with three sections.
On the first part of this page, the applicant will need to provide a full name, email address, company name, full mailing address, and phone number.
In the second section, the applicant will need to designate a tax classification (corporation, sole proprietorship, nonprofit, etc.) and payment preferences. American applicants will need to provide either a social security number (individual) or an employer identification number (company). The download link for the W-9 tax form can also be found here.
In the third part, applicants provide website information, company size, and the marketing types used. Finally, there is an area for a validation code.
Applications undergo a review process and most applicants will hear from RocketProfit within two to three business days. In this way, an application submitted on Wednesday may not receive approval until the following Monday. There are no explicit requirements for traffic.
Tip: RocketProfit is currently being very careful and selective in who they accept as publishers in order to keep quality standards high and reduce the possibility of fraud. If you do not hear back from RocketProfit within a week, your best bet is to phone them. They consider those who phone in to generally be serious publishers and will most likely approve you.
Each publisher is typically assigned an account manager. The contact information for this account manager – name, email, phone number, and AIM – is displayed at the top-right corner of the RocketProfit page upon logging into the publisher account. AIM and telephone requests are addressed immediately if the account manager is available. Email responses are typically received within one to two business days.
The default payment arrangement with RocketProfit has payments issued to publishers via a regular check in the mail. PayPal is also available, but publishers will need to contact their respective affiliate managers to make that arrangement, bearing in mind that RocketProfit is not responsible for any PayPal fees incurred through those transaction. Higher-performing publishers can also request a bank wire if they prefer.
The minimum payout threshold is $25 and payments are issued on net-15 terms. This means that all accumulated earnings in the previous month are paid on the 15th of the following month. For example, the payment issued on February 15th would cover commissions earned during the month of January, assuming that the total earnings meet the threshold of $25.
As with many of other CPA-based advertising networks, RocketProfit requires that all US publishers fill out and submit a W9 tax form. This is not required of international publishers. The form can be submitted via fax, e-mail, or regular postal mail.
RocketProfit appears to have a good referral program. Every referral who signs up for an account with RocketProfit generates an ongoing 2% bonus commission for the original publisher. Unlike other ad networks that limit the timeframe for a bonus commission configuration of this kind, RocketProfit allows for the 2% bonus for however long both the original publisher and referral maintain an account with RocketProfit. The special tracking link for the RocketProfit referral program can be found under “Referral Program” in the control panel.
RocketProfit appears to offer several advantages over competing affiliate-based ad networks. The referral program, which pays publishers a 2% commission for the life of the referral, is one of the better ones out there, and the net-15 payment schedule is faster than the standard net-30 schedule used by other networks. Also, the minimum payment threshold of $25 is quite attractive. Payout levels on the various campaigns range from about $0.35 to $40.00.
The branding for RocketProfit and the site layout are easy to understand, but it does not have the appearance of a conventional ad network. Also, the amount of time that it takes for an application to be approved may feel lengthy, especially if a weekend is involved. It is also unfortunate that the vast majority of campaigns offered by RocketProfit are limited to the United States. Very few are truly worldwide.
RocketProfit appears to be a solid network with good publisher support, fast payment schedules, and potentially lucrative ad campaigns. The Rocket Rewards program offers an added incentive for greater performance.
